The recent advancements in information technology and artificial intelligence are transforming human life in the 21st century in ways never seen before. At the same time, the rapid changes driven by technological progress are giving rise to various unforeseen issues and conflicts. In particular, South Korea and Japan offer significant insights when examining the sociocultural impact of these changes, as the pace of transformation in the fields of information technology and artificial intelligence is notably swift in both countries.
The international conference "Information Technology and Korea-Japan Society: Hyperconnectivity, Cyberspace, Artificial Intelligence," hosted by this research institute with the support of the TOSHIBA International Foundation and the National Research Foundation of Korea, is organized to explore the forefront of Japan studies and consider the potential for comparative research through the themes of information technology and artificial intelligence.
