Information Technology and East Asia: Hyperconnectivity, Cyberspace and Artificial Intelligence
The Institute for Japanese Studies at Seoul National University will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2024 by holding an international academic conference themed "Information Technology and East Asia: Hyperconnectivity, Cyberspace, and Artificial Intelligence." The development of information technology, known for artificial intelligence (AI), has brought unprecedented changes to humanity and society, and it has also impacted various fields adversely through its application. Additionally, the ethical questions and research on how to perceive the changes brought by information technology have emerged as significant issues. This international academic conference will focus on East Asia, particularly Japan and South Korea, which are at the forefront of information technology, and aims to gain new perspectives on common problems by exploring various situations and social issues surrounding information technology. Moreover, due to the broad impact and underdeveloped nature of this academic field, the conference will attempt to incorporate insights from not only researchers but also practitioners active in the field.
