Job Opening  for HK Research Professor 

SNU-IJS has been selected as HK+ Support Business (Type II) by the National Research Foundation  in 2019. According to the business plan of the National Research Foundation, we are pleased to recruit a HK Research Professor. 

1. The Summary of HK+Business by SNU-IJS 

Conduct the business with the agenda of “Exploration of Japanese Life-World in Post-regional Studies Era– Maturity and Transformation, Crisis and Solidarity” for 7 years (2019. 9 ～2026. 8) 

1. Recruitment of HK Research Professor 

(1)Field and Number of Recruitment 

     Analysis of Modern Japanese Society / 1 Person 

(2) Appointment Date : July 1st, 2023 (Expected)

(3) Benefits  / Requirements 

1. Appointment Period is 2 years  (until June 2025) since the start of the appointment date , and reappointment is possible. 
2. After appointment, 200% of papers in Korean or foreign language (KCI level or higher) must be published annually.
3. Working full-time at the research institute and carrying out various research activities at the research institute.
4. 36 million won + 4 major insurances, other incentives

(4) Qualifications 

1. a person with a doctorate degree in his or her field
2. Research achievements of more than 200% confirmed to be published within three years of the month in which the application deadline falls (doctoral thesis passed within the same period is calculated as 100%)
3. A person who is suitable for the HK research project agenda of this research institute
4. Priority is given to those who have experience in conducting research projects and those who can conduct empirical research
5. A person who does not violate the Seoul National University's regulations on the appointment of research professors

(6) Procedure : 1st - Screening of the documents  / 2nd -  Interviews

(7) Criteria :Subjects are selected and evaluated step by step for overall research achievements, suitability with research agendas, recent research-related accomplishments, and research plans.

(8) Required Submission

       (a) Application Form (Filled out Online)

       (b) Degree certificate and transcript (Bachelor, Master, Doctor)- one copy each

       (c) One copy of each Certificate of Experience (exact working period, position specification has to be clarified)

       (d) 200% of the research results subject to review

       (e) Self-introduction and research plan (free form)

           ※ After completing the application form, the final submission must be made by pressing the 'Final Submission' button in the final stage

(9) Result Announcement  : Individual Announcement After Examination

(10) Others

   - In accordance with Article 4-3 of the Education Public Officials Appointment Decree and other appointment-related regulations, if there are no qualified applicants, it may not be possible to select prospective appointments, and the scheduled appointment period may be adjusted.

    - If the contents of the submitted documents are different from the facts, the selection may be canceled.

    - If there is a defect in the requirements for appointment, such as eligibility for application or research results, the appointment may be canceled even after employment.
